A Unique Calling

The past few days Mac has been the sweetest little guy. He is growing and learning so fast. There have been several moments that I just wanted to pause time and squeeze him for days because I love him so much. He makes me smile and laugh so often. I just LOVE that little fellow.

With that being said I am a little sad to not have just me and Mac time all the time.  For two years its been just us most of the day. What a special time that was! It will be totally different in a few days when the baby gets here. I am SO grateful I have had those special little moments with Mac the past few days. I've eaten them up! I'm kind of sad for it not to be Mac and Mom time all the time. I'm guessing that is a normal emotion before the second child arrives, at least I hope it is. I know it will be just fine and we will still have special moments but for this instant, I am just sad.

I sure love that little fellow. He will be such a GREAT big brother. He was out playing in the yard tonight and here are a few cute photos I snapped:

Being a mom is such a unique experience. Some days I feel like I was made to me a mom, like every part of my DNA was meant for it. And other days I wonder what the heck I am doing thinking being responsible for the well being of children. I feel so inadequate. What an interesting grouping of emotions. Being a mom is unique calling. I know I was specifically called to be mom and I love doing it. Sometimes I just wish the manual was little more clear. Oh wait... that's right, there is no manual!! So apparently I just make it up as I go like all the other mom's out there. What a fun job! I really do love it.

So its been awhile and I'm really not sure how to catch up. I'm sure there is so much stuff I want to remember that won't get posted to this blog. But I decided to go through the recent pics I have and post about those. However, there really aren't that many because I lost my camera charger before the move, found it in the move, and then lost it again. Let's hope I find it before Damon arrives. Speaking of Damon, I am due tomorrow but scheduled to be induced next week. I am pretty sure it will be the later. Now, onto the pics.

Dev and Mac are quite the best friends right now. I get some serious tears when I try to put him to bed or do anything with him when his dad is home. Good thing I get some serious quality time in the day or I might get my feelings hurt. It also might be nice that he is so attached to his dad when the new baby comes who needs a lot of attention from me. This pic is their "trying hard" face.

There is a fun little train in FW we have taken a few times. It is surprisingly a long ride and Mac loves it. This particular time we went with our friends Brett and Tiara who just happened to be our neighbors in Logan a few months ago and live here now. How lucky are we to have such great people follow us!

Mac and me. Love Love Love this boy. He makes me laugh everyday. I cannot believe how smart he is. I love watching his little brain work. He is such a good boy and is keeping his good manners. Let's hope that continues.

Mac had a birthday! The big 2! This is when the camera died so these are the last shots I have. He had a great birthday! People were so kind to him. He had several presents from out-of-staters and the neighs. We sure had some good neighbors on Mission st! cap guns and a little cowboy hat. He was adorable.

We went to dinner at an old mission companions house in Dallas and the missionaries were coming over. To our surprise it was JER!!! Dev worked with him in VA one summer and it was SO fun to see him. Totally crazy but made our days!

My good friend Candace and I have a "baby and moving bucket list". There are so many things we want to do before I have this baby and before she moves. We are doing pretty well! Fossil Rim (basically a drive thru zoo) was something on that list. This place blew my mind!!! There are SO many animals and most of them just come right up to your window and make themselves at home in your car. I was SO proud of Mac for feeding the giraffe since he was pretty scared at first. There were so many animals! We sure had fun!

Cool pic of one of the several giraffes

There is also a petting zoo there. this is one of the animals we petted. Good times!!

And last but not least, we bought and moved into this home. Everything went really smooth and it is SO nice to be in it. The moving in wasn't all that bad and luckily didn't put me into labor. Mac loves the "new house" and so do we all!! More pictures will hopefully someday follow. I still can't believe we bought a house. Good things we're not grown-ups yet;)

Talking Away...

Obviously I've been a slacker lately. We just moved and I am about to have a baby so its acceptable, right?! I will try and catch up sometime soon.

But here are a few funny things Mac has said the past few days that hopefully will give you a little chuckle like they did me:

Anytime he has a broom or cleaning supply of any kind he says, "I gettin busy, mom". I hope this isn't because when I have those things I usually say something like, "Mac, I'm busy right now".

The other afternoon I heard a crazy noise coming from upstairs when Mac was suppose to be sleeping. So I hustled up there and on my way up realized he was jumping in his crib. So I listened for a second and heard him say, "I am crazy. SO crazy. Jump. Jump. I crazy". What a silly boy!

He is surely in that age where new vocabulary is coming to him everyday and he is loving being able to talk. It is has been such a pleasure to watch him grow and learn so quick. I think he is getting himself ready for the new baby. Sure do love this boy!

Dinner??

I just asked Mac what he wanted for dinner. His response? "CUPCAKES!!!!!" I hope this isn't a reflection of his pregnant mamma.

Our Favorite Hang Out

Mac and I have a favorite hang out. We go there at least 3 times a week. It is called yhe Crazy Cazier Castle. Mac asks specifically to go when we drive anywhere close to it. We LOVE playing there. Our best of buds happen to live there and it is always a party when we go. Here are some things we do there:

Sure do love those Crazy Caziers!

As Always, Some Randomness...

Good News! After cooking curry on Thursday (today is Saturday) our house is finally losing the stench:) And that is after I have had the windows open 24/7 since then. But it was sure good! Even Candace and Brett enjoyed it. We are SO lucky to have such great friends in Texas. It was a huge blessing to be able to make friends so fast here. There are SO many people I just love and adore and whom I am so thankful for! Love you all!!

Speaking of good friends... My good friend Candace took some pics of my large and in charge belly the other day. They turned out so cute. Here are a few:

These 2 boys are such good buds. Glad to have so many little friends around for Mac. He is one lucky boy.

And I guess it would be good to mention that I am due June 22nd so I have about 6 weeks left. And did I not tell you that belly was large and in charge?!

Living in Texas Has its Perks!!

The good thing about living in Texas is that we get visitors!! Devan's parents and Dallin came a few weeks ago and let me tell you that we had a blast! Mac absolutely LOVED having them here and made a quick pal with Dal. Now (a few weeks later) he constantly is asking for him. We knew that since this was Dallin and Kelly's first time flying and everyone's first time to Texas that we had to show them a good time. And that we did. Here are a few random pictures from their visit:

We went to the Botanical Gardens and Mac found a fun log to crawl through.

Can't pass up the Stockyards. It is a classic!

Sorry for the crooked pic- but this is at Coopers. A MUST with visitors!

The zoo was a blast. And even though Mac was tired he was such a trooper!

Handsome Dal! So studly. And the hooray for elephants.

This is for my Bestie! Love you, Maili!

"Bob and Nana"

Our lovely group. Nice, Big Mac:)

And this is what happens with a REALLY sleepy boy. The look on his face said to me, "I really don't want to be asleep and I tried so hard not to but I just couldn't help it!"

We have a crazy connection with the Cazier's in our ward since Janessa's family lived in Holden and Devan actually knows several of her siblings. So we took the troops out to see the larger troops at Mineral Wells where the Caziers were camping. It was a blast. I sure do love those kids and Mac just adores them.

More zoo pics. This is sure wild!

More at the Stockyards. Do you think he has a career in Bull Riding (as his mother I sure hope not)?

It was so fun to have them here and we were all sad to see them leave. We also went to a Ranger's game, ate at Mooyah and had an all around good time. Sure love those guys. And if anyone else wants to come visit we will show you just as good of a time!
